“The last jazz immortal.”

—The Village Voice

Nothing can prepare you for the experience of Sonny Rollins live in performance The saxophone legend has perfected his effortless control, melodic invention and stunning thematic improvisation for over 50 years, has helmed over 50 recordings as leader and has worked with Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, Max Roach and Dizzy Gillespie, earning the adulation and reverence of musicians and audiences alike. Decorated with Grammys®, a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and elected into the Down Beat Jazz Hall of Fame, Jazz’s most exacting, exhilarating and inspiring practitioner is fiercely devoted to jazz as a “living, breathing art form.” He continues to challenge himself with a generous spirit that electrifies his fellow band mates as much as audiences. It’s thrilling to behold the “saxophone colossus” sculpt music, carving out space for intimacy amidst sweeping majesty.
