"Unlike anything on the planet...every show is wild and weird...if you're interested in the roots of Hip Hop check out the Mouse"

—Austin Chronicle

"[John Brown’s Body is] the most authentic purveyor of 'truth and rights' music around."

—The Village Voice

"[Rubblebucket Orchestra is] the result is a genre-mashing maelstrom of hot-blooded West African funk rhythms and scorching soul melodies unlike anything that's come before it."

—Seven Days Newspaper

Outrageous and uniquely original, Eek-a-Mouse is the wildly popular Jamaican reggae star considered by many to be the godfather of dancehall music. During more than a quarter-century of recording and global touring, he has created a style all his own—utilizing reggae, rock and hip hop rhythms to complement his alternately hilarious and poignant lyrics—and in the process has become an international phenomenon, taking every rapt audience on an aural adventure. Audiences that experience the euphoric energy of their live shows know that John Brown's Body is roots reggae at its finest. The eight-member group (from Ithaca, New York and Boston) has developed a strong reputation for its originality during its ten-year career and their most recent record Pressure Points has spent nearly every week on Billboard's Reggae Chart since being released. Fusing socially conscious lyrics with a vintage roots sound, the band has drawn respect and admiration across the music world and has created universal appeal. Rubblebucket Orchestra is a ten-piece psychedelic afrobeat band featuring trumpeter/composer Alex Toth and vocalist/saxophonist Kalmia Traver (both members of cutting edge nationally renowned reggae band John Brown's Body). Stacked with a four-piece horn section, alluring lead vocals, and a harp-like West African stringed instrument called an N'goni, their vibe is like Bjork meets Fela Kuti meets James Brown.
